If there is a single word in the English language that is more overused than this one in the realm of business – including business education – at this moment, I can’t imagine what it is. Toss a feather and you are likely to hit someone who wants to talk to you about “disrupting” industries, sectors, paradigms and more. Gone are the days of mere “innovation.” Now, we can’t just change things; we have to create and earthquake while we’re doing it. Throw off the whole game. Knock everyone and everything sideways so that that people call us visionary, or genius. We want to be the ones who masterminded the full system overhaul of whatever space we call our own.
